Clinton St. Baking Company, 4 Clinton Street, 646-602-6263
This famous brunch spot serves brunch every day, but on Thursday, it’ll extend the hours of its midday feast — the restaurant is serving the brunch menu from 9 a.m. until 11 p.m. Consider the pancakes, the smoked salmon scramble, or the Southern plate and a couple of drinks. And despite the extended hours, be prepared to wait in line.

Cow and Clover, 291 Kent Avenue, Brooklyn, 718-782-8817
Stop into this new Williamsburg restaurant on January 1 from noon until 5 p.m., and partake in brunch items like smoked duck benedict, a short rib burger, or french toast from the wood-fired oven. Hair-of-the-dog options include a horseradish-spiked bloody mary and bottomless mimosas.

Empire Diner, 210 Tenth Avenue, 212-596-7523
This Chelsea restaurant is serving brunch from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. on New Year’s Day. Start your year with avocado toast, fettuccine carbonara, stuffed french toast, or buttermilk pancakes, and toast 2015 with a smoky mary or a “Pimm’s Secret,” made with Pimm’s and ginger ale.

Sons of Essex, 133 Essex Street, 212-674-7100
This Lower East Side den is offering a New Year’s Day Hangover Brunch anchored by two hours of bottomless mimosas. Sop up that booze with Canadian bacon benedict or Crunch Berry french toast topped with Nutella whipped cream. Stop by between noon and 7 p.m.

Dovetail, 103 West 77th Street, 212-362-3800
John Fraser’s Upper West Side haunt is offering a $64 three-course brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday. The meal starts with items like veal meatballs and cured salmon tea sandwiches, includes entrees like crab benedict and chorizo frittata, and finishes with pumpkin profiteroles, devil’s food cake, or cherry clafoutis. You’ll also be treated to unlimited champagne.

Chapter One, 33 Greenwich Avenue, 212-842-9146
Drop by this American tavern from noon to 4 p.m., and consider ordering the special traditional Southern plate, consisting of pan-fried pork chops, Hoppin’ John, collard greens, and cornbread. The regular brunch menu, which includes dishes like duck confit hash and ricotta pancakes, will also be available.

Taco Santo, 669 Union Street, Brooklyn, 347-227-7777
Park Slope’s Taco Santo will serve its regular brunch menu, comprising dishes like cornmeal pancakes, chilaquiles, and breakfast taco platter, from noon to 3 p.m. on New Year’s Day. Wash your meal down with mezcal bloody marias, micheladas, and Mexican screwdrivers.

Prune, 54 East 1st Street, 212-677-6221
Prune serves what might be the most famous brunch in the East Village, if not in the city, and lucky for you, the restaurant is open on New Year’s Day. Lay into some sausages and oysters, spaghetti a la carbonara, or egg en cocotte, and don’t forget to order one of this spot’s famous bloody marys.

DBGB, 299 Bowery, 212-933-5300
Daniel Boulud’s Bowery eatery will serve brunch from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on New Year’s Day. Opt for the three-course prix fixe — which includes starters like butternut squash soup and pâté, entrees like cavatelli with duck confit and a beer-battered cod sandwich, and desserts like an ice cream sundae and a chocolate mousse cup — or go à la carte, and choose from a long list of sausages, egg dishes, waffles, burgers, and other sandwiches. New Year’s Day will also be the last day to order from DBGB’s selection of holiday treats, which includes items like caviar and a côte de bœuf for two.

Saxon + Parole, 316 Bowery, 212-254-0350
Saxon + Parole will be open on New Year’s Day from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m., and it’s serving an all-day breakfast plus a few dinner items. Tuck into stuffed french toast, ham with potato cakes, and steak frites plus charcuterie, oysters, and shrimp cocktail. The restaurant keeps a long list of hangover-killing drinks, plus a DIY bloody mary bar.
