Grab a Comic Con Special, Party at Pig and Khao, or Visit Ribfest This Weekend


Comic Con Specials, Multiple Locations, Saturday and Sunday

After defending the galaxy or fighting crime, superheros need to grab a bite, which is why New York restaurants are offering a few comically good specials this weekend. People can find thematically appropriate dishes at a few spots, including No. 7 Sub, which is offering a special sandwich at all of its locations with a 10% discount for Comic Con’s Superweek card holders. There’s also the Wikia fantasy food truck which will be on site at the convention offering foods that only exist on television (think Cookie Cat from Steven Universe). Additional locations offering specials, for those wearing spandex or not, include Two Boots Pizza and Serendipity 3.

Red River Breakfast, Javelina, 119 E 18th Street, Saturday, 8:45 to 11 a.m.

If you’re planning on spending the day celebrating the annual Red River Shootout, get your start to game day with a tailgate-style breakfast. Homemade corn dogs, funnel cake, and breakfast tacos are all a part of the special menu, while beer, frozen margaritas, and other mixed drinks are included in the all you can eat and drink deal. Tickets are $40 and a portion of sales will each go to a college’s preferred charity of choice. Oklahoma fans can secure a ticket here; Texas fans should grab their seats here.

Pig and Khao 3rd Anniversary Party: P3KVEGAS, Pig and Khao, 68 Clinton Street, Sunday, 3 p.m. 

Celebrate Las Vegas-style at this all you can eat buffet, which will include slots, dancing and live performances. The restaurant is featuring dishes like shrimp cocktail and a pork carving station, while bartenders will serve up a few special birthday cocktails for the occasion.Tickets are $50 in advance and $60 at the door, secure them here.

Delaney Barbecue’s Rooftop Ribfest, Brooklyn Grange Rooftop Farm, 37-18 Northern Boulevard, Queens, Sunday, 3 p.m.

Enjoy the irony of stuffing your face with ribs of all kinds while seated atop a rooftop farm at the final Butcher Paper dinner of 2015. Daniel Delaney of Delaney’s Barbecue is smoking up ribs of the beef, pork, and lamb variety, and with whipping up sides like deviled eggs, potatoes and corn for this all you can eat affair. To drink, Rockaway Brewing Co. and Fox Run Vineyards will be serving up liquid relief. Tickets are $80; dress warm before securing a spot here.

Gastronomie’ 491’s Fall Fling, Gastronomie 491, 491 Columbus Avenue, Sunday, 12 to 4 p.m.

If you’re running low on funds thanks to fantasy football, spend Sunday with an afternoon tasting of complimentary cider, chocolate, and short cakes. Guests will also be able to sample a variety of housemade antipasti and gelato, with a live musical performance scheduled too.
