People assume that any celebrity who joins OnlyFans will immediately start making hundreds of thousands of dollars, but that isn’t always the case. Jessie Cave, who is known for her role as Lavender Brown in the Harry Potter franchise, joined the subscription-based platform earlier this year with the goal of paying off some debt — but it hasn’t gone well for her.
Cave launched her account determined to focus on her long hair, offering a niche service to those who are into hair content.
The former actress’s profile reads: “Former Harry Potter actress, writer, doodler and now Only Fans Long Hair Specialist. I do NICHE HAIR CONTENT which you may well quite like. How magical!
“Will respond to Dm’s. Let’s get to know each other! If you have a hair thing, this is the place for you. If you want something specific, you can message me and I will be happy to see what we can do. LOVE JESSIE XXX.”
Yet despite insisting she would stick to hair content, she’s inundated with requests for very X-rated content.
She wrote about her experience on her Substack: “It’s gotten a little nasty. I feel a little gross, a little scared. I am receiving too many lurid messages and don’t like being sent unsolicited d***s. No matter how many times I say I am not doing sexual content, I get a message within two seconds asking to see cm in my hair or if I would just please f**ing consider full frontal.”
Despite trying for more than 100 days on the platform, Cave is struggling to increase her subscribers because she refuses to “go nude”.
“It’s been over 100 days of running ragged with my hair, desperately trying to keep up the supply to the OnlyFans content conveyor belt,” she wrote on Substack.
“I have lost subscribers. I feel sad about that, but glad that the people who continuously messaged ‘nude? When will u be nude? Go nude or I’m gone’ have left to pester other creators.”
While she insists on keeping her clothes on, Cave is open to trying new things. She recently filmed a “wet hair” video where she poured strawberry milk all over her hair.
“I did my first wet hair Wednesday that didn’t involve water. I poured two bottles of Yazoo strawberry milk over my head and got brain freeze,” she said.
“I was really pleased with the video, as the green strappy dress I was wearing looked great contrasted with the pink milk – but was disappointed by the number of people who bought it.”
It turns out that people aren’t as into her hair as she’d hoped — but when she accidentally showed more skin than usual, she saw results.
“I did a video of me plaiting my hair last week in a T-shirt and black tights. I didn’t watch the video back before I posted and wondered why it had gotten so many likes and tips later that evening,” she wrote.
“It turns out the tights were a little see-through and I was wearing flesh-coloured knickers. Is it that simple?
“It would be so easy to go down to my knickers and bra, but how would I feel in two months’ time? Yes, the subscribers are going down because I’m tame.”
Like many on OnlyFans, Cave is struggling to hold on to her own personal boundaries while trying to make enough money to pay off the debt she’s accumulated over the years.
