Know your facts!
Calling the former Fedora restaurant a "notorious tavern" and a "dive" is idiotic, and does severe injustice to Fedora Dorato, who, with and her husband, operated a warm and inviting restaurant for generations of Villagers. Her nightly appearance at 8:30 p.m., after having prepared the food during the day, produced applause from regulars, many of whom would have brought fresh flowers for the front table, adding a memorable theatricality to an evening in Greenwich Village.
If the new Fedora can manage to send diners out feeling that they have had a real Village experience, it might have the kind of success the original experienced for 56 years. We hope it will!
