Despite some promising conceits, a very disappointing production. Reasonably directed, the actors fail uniformly to deliver ideas or emotions, or even most lines. Problems with the space, perhaps? Contrast with The Globe Theatre's Henry IV Part 1, which resounded even on film.
Points for approximating the physical Globe indoors, and for the ambient Chant. Demerits for extended dance version, High Tops, dueling accents and prancing Mercutio. Oh, and Benvolio -- could anyone make him out?
