I don't understand why the Voice felt the need to list a "worst of". It's not very constructive. How is that supposed to help nurture the community?
This piece gives me the same icky feeling as Deborah Jowitt's departure from the Voice after 40 years of being a dance critic because of "artistic differences"- meaning she wrote too many favorable reviews.
What sort of message are you trying to convey to the NY artistic community, Village Voice? Right now, your efforts scream "destructive sensationalism". Is that what you mean?
